Who we are
About this site
A guide to Seychelles for Indian travellers, written under one name, with the bookings handled by a licensed operator on the island.
One name on the writing, and it is a pen name
Everything on this site is written under a single byline, Meera Jha. It is a pen name. We are telling you that on the page rather than leaving you to work it out, because a site that will not sell you a hotel room on the grounds of honesty cannot then be coy about its own byline.
The reason for one name rather than none is that a guide is a series of judgements and a judgement needs somebody standing behind it. Which coast in February. Whether two weeks is too long on La Digue. Whether the cheapest week is worth having. Those are opinions, they are argued for on the page, and they are all argued for by the same person, so a few pages are enough to decide how much of her judgement you want, and to read the rest accordingly.
What is not a device is the desk. A real person reads every letter that comes through the form and a real person answers it.
Who actually takes the booking
visitseychelles.in is the India-facing site of SeyBooking.com, which is a registered business name in Seychelles under the Business Names Registration Act 1972, registration number B8429462, at P.O. Box 3002, Anse Royale, Mahé. Its tax registration number is 522236103.
It holds a Commission Agent (Tourism-Related) licence from the Seychelles Licensing Authority, number 312378, with the declared activity of online booking, valid to 2 June 2027. That licence is the thing worth checking, and it is why it is printed here in full rather than described.
This site is a guide and a marketing portal. It is not itself a travel agency. Every booking, every confirmation and every payment happens with the licensed operator, and their name is on the confirmation you receive.
What we sell, and what we will not
We arrange four things. Car hire from our own fleet, excursions and days out, airport transfers and taxis, and weddings and vow renewals. On all four we are the people who do the work, and the pages that sell them carry prices in euros with an indicative rupee figure beside them.
We do not sell hotel rooms. The twenty-four hotel pages on this site are written as guides and they send you to the operator's own booking page with no form and no sales button on them. We do not sell ferry tickets, bus tickets or airline seats either. Those pages are timetables and route notes, and they exist because they are the four questions an Indian traveller asks first.
There is one thing we sell that we will never name on this site, which is the operator behind the direct-booking adventure days. That is their commercial arrangement, not a secret about the day itself, and the day itself is described in full, with the price, on its own page.
How we are paid, in plain words
Three ways, and none of them costs you more than going direct.
On the things we arrange ourselves we are paid a commission by the operator out of the price you were quoted. On some excursions the booking goes through Viator, which pays a commission on the same terms, and every card that does so says which. On the flights page there is a live fare panel run by Travelpayouts and Kiwi.com that pays us if you book through it, and the line under it says so.
What we are not paid for is a recommendation. No hotel on this site has paid to be on it, no restaurant has, and no page has been written because somebody bought it. The one hotel marked as a first choice is marked because we would send our own family there.
There is no telephone number on this site
Not an oversight and not a cost saving. It is the design.
A holiday plan is dates, coasts, prices and a route, and a phone call loses all four the moment it ends. Writing it down means you have the whole thing in front of you, you can send it to whoever is paying, you can read it again in three weeks when you have forgotten which beach was which, and you can hold us to it. It also means one person holds the whole of your trip instead of four people each holding a quarter.
So there is no number, no chat window and no published mailbox. There is one form, it goes to one desk, and the answer comes back in writing.
How we treat facts and photographs
Prices are the operator's own and are printed in euros, which is the currency they are quoted in. The rupee figure beside every one of them is indicative, converted at the European Central Bank reference rate on a stated date, and it is not a card rate. Where a page carries a claim about a law, a rule or a timetable, it names its source at the bottom of the page.
The photographs are real photographs of the places they are captioned as. Most are Creative Commons or Free Art Licence files, and every one of those carries its photographer, its licence and a link back to the original underneath the picture where it is used. We do not use a photograph of one beach to sell another, we do not run stock images of somewhere that is not Seychelles, and when we cannot find a true picture of something we write about it without one.
If you find something on this site that is wrong, write and tell us. It gets fixed and the page says when it was fixed.
What people ask.
Is visitseychelles.in a travel agency?
No. It is a guide and a marketing portal. The bookings are made by SeyBooking.com, which holds Seychelles Licensing Authority commission agent licence 312378.
Is Meera Jha a real person?
Meera Jha is the pen name the guides on this site are written under, in the way a column carries one byline. The letters you send through the form are read and answered by a real person on the team.
Why can I not book a hotel here?
Because we do not sell rooms. The hotel pages are guides, and they link to the operator's own booking page. We would rather be useful about where to stay than take a cut of it.
Do you charge for planning a trip?
No. Asking, and getting a written plan back, costs nothing and carries no obligation.
Where is the company based?
Anse Royale, Mahé, Seychelles. The registered address is P.O. Box 3002, Anse Royale.
Everything here is free to read
And when you want it turned into an actual week with dates and prices on it, there is one form and one person who answers it.
