The beach

The walk

The trail leaves from the end of the road at Danzil, above Beau Vallon, and runs about three kilometres along the coast, over bare granite and through scrub, with the sea a long way below on the right. It takes about an hour each way at a normal pace and there is no shade for most of it.

Take more water than you think. There is nothing to buy at either end of the walk and nothing at all on the beach.

The beach

What is at the end

A small beach of coarse white sand between granite headlands, with clear water and usually a handful of people on it. Boats from Bel Ombre run here as well, which is the sensible way to do it with children or in the middle of the day.

It is inside the national park, so there is no development behind it and there will not be. That is the whole point of the place.

Getting there

How you arrive

Drive or bus to Bel Ombre and on to Danzil, where the road ends, then walk. Boats run from Bel Ombre for anyone who would rather not. Allow half a day.
