The far end of the east road on La Digue, where the tarmac stops and the coast turns into boulders. Almost nobody rides this far, which is most of the reason to.

The far end
The east road runs from La Passe past Anse Patates and down the coast, and it gets progressively quieter until it simply stops at Anse Fourmis. There is sand, there is granite, there are casuarinas, and there is nothing else at all.
Beyond it the coast is impassable on a bicycle and the walk round to Anse Cocos goes inland over the hill instead. Most people turn round here.
What it is for
It is not a facilities beach and it is not a swimming beach on a rough day. It is the quiet end of a small island, reached under your own power, at the point in the year when the famous beaches on the other side are grey.
Take water. Take a hat. There is nowhere to buy either.
The ride out
The east road is the better half of the loop and almost nobody rides all of it. It leaves La Passe past the Veuve Reserve, where the Seychelles paradise flycatcher lives and where the island's last stands of native takamaka forest are, then runs out along the coast under the granite with the sea on your left the whole way.
It is flat, it is shaded in patches, and it takes twenty minutes at a pace that leaves you able to enjoy it. The turning point is Anse Fourmis, and the ride back into the afternoon light is the reason to go late rather than early.
