What the crossing is like.
Cat Cocos is a fast catamaran with air conditioning. Below you are sheltered and cool. On the top deck you have the wind and the view, and that is where the crossing is actually worth having. Mahé falls away behind you and after a while the shape of Praslin comes up ahead.
One honest thing about it. The sea between the two islands moves, particularly from June to September when the south-east trades are blowing. If you travel badly at sea, the middle of the boat is the steadiest place, keep your eyes on the horizon, and take something an hour before if you are prone to it.

How early should we be at the jetty?
Boarding opens thirty minutes before departure and the gate closes fifteen minutes before. Half an hour is enough. An hour is comfortable.

Can we change the ticket?
Up to three working days before departure. After that it is fixed, so it is worth settling the date early rather than holding it open.
Is the sea rough?
