The property

What Acajou Beach Resort is.

4.6out of 5634 reviews on Googleread 2 September 2026

Acajou is a Creole-style resort of about sixty-five rooms sitting directly on Côte d'Or, which is the main beach on the north coast of Praslin and one of the best stretches of sand in the country. Many of the rooms have been refurbished and are modern and generous, and the resort opens straight onto the beach rather than across a road.

It holds 4.6 from more than six hundred reviews. Two things dominate them. The first is the food, and specifically the buffets, with the executive chef named again and again, which is not something guests usually bother to do. The second is the team, described as warm and quick to make families with small children feel at ease.

Sunsets face you here, because Côte d'Or looks north-west. That is a real advantage over the south-coast hotels and it costs nothing extra.

The setting

Where it stands.

Côte d'Or, which the map also calls Anse Volbert, is the most sociable part of Praslin, a long sheltered bay with calm, shallow water that is safe for swimming. Shops, dive centres and casual restaurants line the road behind the sand, and a small island sits offshore that you can snorkel out to. Most of Praslin's boat trips, to Curieuse, Saint Pierre and La Digue, leave from this bay, and Anse Lazio and the Vallée de Mai are both a short drive.

The stay

What a week here feels like.

A comfortable beach hotel that is well positioned rather than spectacular, and better value for it. The location does most of the work: everything on Praslin starts within a few hundred metres of the front door.

Suitability

Who it suits.

Couples and families who want a good beach and a good dinner without paying for a villa with a pool. It is the sensible middle of Praslin.

From India

What this means for you.

The best-placed hotel on Praslin for a trip that involves getting on boats, because the boats leave from this bay. Book a Curieuse or Saint Pierre day and you walk to it. The buffets also solve the dietary question more easily than an à la carte kitchen does, because a buffet always has something on it, though you should still say what you need when you book rather than at the first dinner.

The reviews

What guests actually wrote.

Two of the reviews on the listing, in the order Google shows them and in the words they were written in:

We had a wonderful stay at Acajou Beach Resort and cannot recommend it highly enough. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The entire team was incredible, so warm, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind.Ludivine, Google review

Getting there

How you arrive.

Praslin is reached from Mahé either by the fast ferry, about an hour from Victoria into Baie Sainte Anne, or by a fifteen-minute flight to the island's airstrip. The ferry is cheaper and shows you the sea. The flight is quicker and carries fifteen kilos a person, which is the figure that usually decides it for a family. We can arrange the transfer at both ends so the chain is not yours to assemble.

The booking

Where the room is actually sold.

Booking and payment happen on SeyBooking.com, the licensed Seychelles operator, on Acajou Beach Resort's own listing there. We are a guide. We take no payment, hold no room and add nothing to the price, and the button on this page opens that listing so you can see the rate for your dates, which is a thing no guide page can honestly print. Most rooms show free cancellation, and the listing says so before you commit.

११Before you book

The six people ask.

Where is Acajou Beach Resort?

Cote Dor, on Praslin. Praslin is reached from Mahé either by the fast ferry, about an hour from Victoria into Baie Sainte Anne, or by a fifteen-minute flight to the island's airstrip.

How big is it?

65 rooms and 130 beds, per the Seychelles tourism register. The room types and what is free on your dates are on the listing.

How is it rated, and by whom?

4.6 out of 5 on Google, from 634 Google reviews, read on 2 September 2026. That is Google's figure and not ours. We do not run a rating of our own, we do not average anything, and we do not publish a score we could not show you the source of.

How do I book it?

On SeyBooking.com, on Acajou Beach Resort's own listing there. The button on this page opens it. We take no payment on this site and there is no form on this page, because the room is not ours to sell.

Can you arrange the rest of the trip around it?

Yes, and that is the part we do run. The car, the airport transfer, the days out and, if that is why you are coming, the wedding. Book the room on the listing, then tell us the dates and we will build the rest around them at no extra cost.

We are vegetarian. Will the kitchen manage?

Probably, if you tell them early. A resort kitchen of this size will normally cook vegetarian without any fuss, and Jain is a longer conversation that needs to happen at the booking rather than at the first dinner. We are not going to claim more than that about a kitchen we have not spoken to. If the requirement is strict, look at the self-catering places on this page, where a kitchen of your own settles it.

Room chosen. Now the week.

Book the room on the listing, then tell us your dates. The car, the transfer and the days out come back in one message, at no extra cost.
