The property

What Le Duc de Praslin is.

Le Duc de Praslin is a boutique hotel of about thirty rooms and cabins set a step back from Côte d'Or at Anse Volbert. The rooms are spacious, beautifully kept cabins, many with good views, and the decoration is done with a level of attention that guests notice and mention.

It holds 4.7 from more than eleven hundred reviews, which is a very high score for a property of this size with that much traffic through it. Guests describe a hotel with a soul, a blend of elegance and genuine warmth, and it is a favourite for couples and honeymooners.

The food draws as much praise as the rooms, and the kitchen is on record as cooking around dietary needs, with the chef often coming out to check personally. Very few kitchens on this island have that written down about them.

The setting

Where it stands.

Côte d'Or, or Anse Volbert, is the main beach on Praslin's north coast and the liveliest part of the island, a long sheltered bay with calm, shallow water. Shops, dive centres and restaurants run along the road behind the sand, and the boat trips to Curieuse, Saint Pierre and La Digue leave from here. Anse Lazio is a short drive north, and the Vallée de Mai is inland.

The stay

What a week here feels like.

A small hotel with the confidence not to fill every hour. The beach is a short walk rather than at the door, which is the trade for the calm and for the price. Dinner is the event of the day.

Suitability

Who it suits.

Couples and honeymooners first. Families are fine but this is a hotel with a grown-up temperature. If you want to fall out of bed onto the sand, Berjaya or Paradise Sun are on the same bay.

From India

What this means for you.

This is the one we name when somebody writes to ask whether a Praslin kitchen will cook vegetarian properly. Its own listing says the kitchen works around dietary needs and that the chef checks personally, which is a documented fact rather than a hopeful one, and it is why this hotel appears in this paragraph and most do not. Tell them when you book, and tell them what Jain means if that is the requirement, because the word does not travel.

The reviews

What guests actually wrote.

Two of the reviews on the listing, in the order Google shows them and in the words they were written in:

This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and offer breathtaking views. The beach is undoubtedly one of the best in Praslin, with some of the most pristine white sand we have ever seen.Diana, Google review
Our stay at Le Duc de Praslin was honestly exceptional from start to finish. The service throughout the stay was outstanding, and the team truly went above and beyond to make the experience special for us.Bassam, Google review

Getting there

How you arrive.

Praslin is reached from Mahé either by the fast ferry, about an hour from Victoria into Baie Sainte Anne, or by a fifteen-minute flight to the island's airstrip. The ferry is cheaper and shows you the sea. The flight is quicker and carries fifteen kilos a person, which is the figure that usually decides it for a family. We can arrange the transfer at both ends so the chain is not yours to assemble.

The booking

Where the room is actually sold.

Booking and payment happen on SeyBooking.com, the licensed Seychelles operator, on Le Duc de Praslin's own listing there. We are a guide. We take no payment, hold no room and add nothing to the price, and the button on this page opens that listing so you can see the rate for your dates, which is a thing no guide page can honestly print. Most rooms show free cancellation, and the listing says so before you commit.

११Before you book

The six people ask.

Where is Le Duc de Praslin?

Cote d'Or, on Praslin. Praslin is reached from Mahé either by the fast ferry, about an hour from Victoria into Baie Sainte Anne, or by a fifteen-minute flight to the island's airstrip.

How big is it?

32 rooms and 64 beds, per the Seychelles tourism register. The room types and what is free on your dates are on the listing.

How is it rated, and by whom?

4.7 out of 5 on Google, from 1,108 Google reviews, read on 2 September 2026. That is Google's figure and not ours. We do not run a rating of our own, we do not average anything, and we do not publish a score we could not show you the source of.

How do I book it?

On SeyBooking.com, on Le Duc de Praslin's own listing there. The button on this page opens it. We take no payment on this site and there is no form on this page, because the room is not ours to sell.

Can you arrange the rest of the trip around it?

Yes, and that is the part we do run. The car, the airport transfer, the days out and, if that is why you are coming, the wedding. Book the room on the listing, then tell us the dates and we will build the rest around them at no extra cost.

We are vegetarian. Will the kitchen manage?

Yes, and this is one of the three properties on this site where that is on the record rather than assumed: its own listing says the kitchen cooks around dietary needs and that the chef comes out to check. Say it when you book, and if the requirement is Jain, say what that means, because the word does not travel.

Room chosen. Now the week.

Book the room on the listing, then tell us your dates. The car, the transfer and the days out come back in one message, at no extra cost.
