Thirty villas, thirty pools

Anantara Maia Seychelles

An all-villa resort on a private stretch of Anse Louis, thirty villas rather than three hundred rooms. It is the highest-rated large property in the country and it is quiet in a way that has to be arranged for.

The property

What Anantara Maia Seychelles is.

4.8out of 5359 reviews on Googleread 2 September 2026

Anantara Maia is thirty villas set into a green hillside above its own bay on the south-west coast of Mahé, and the number matters more than any other fact on this page. Thirty villas is not a resort you share, it is a resort you occupy. Each one has its own pool and its own view, and the whole property is small enough that the staff learn your name in a day.

It carries 4.8 out of 5, which for a property with three hundred and fifty-nine reviews behind it is close to the ceiling of what is possible. The reviews are consistent about why. The villas are large, beautifully kept and genuinely private. The beach reads as though it belongs to the house. The quiet is real, birds and water and nothing else, which on an island where most hotels sit on a road is worth paying for.

The service is villa-host service, meaning one person who knows your booking rather than a desk you queue at, and guests name that person in review after review. That is the single most reliable sign of a resort that is actually run rather than merely operated.

The setting

Where it stands.

Anse Louis is on the quiet side of Mahé, about half an hour from the airport and from Victoria, in the green south-west where the coast breaks into a run of small coves. Anse Soleil, Petite Anse and Anse Intendance are all a short drive. The water on this coast is clear and good for swimming, and the hills behind hold the light late into the evening.

The stay

What a week here feels like.

A stay here has very little to do with facilities and everything to do with being left alone well. You wake in your own villa, swim in your own pool, and go down to a beach that will usually be empty. Meals arrive without ceremony. If you want a day arranged, someone arranges it. If you want three days in which nothing at all happens, that is the more common request.

Suitability

Who it suits.

Couples, honeymoons, and families who would rather have one villa with a pool than a suite in a building. It is not the choice for anyone who wants a resort with eleven restaurants and a programme, and it does not pretend to be. If your week is built around going out and doing things, the money is better spent elsewhere and the days spent on the water.

From India

What this means for you.

Half an hour from the terminal is the shortest airport run of any villa resort at this level, which matters on the night a Mumbai flight lands late through the Gulf. A villa with its own pool also solves the thing families never quite say out loud, which is that a shared pool with a small child is not a rest. We can have the transfer waiting and a car at the villa the next morning, both arranged from this site.

The reviews

What guests actually wrote.

Two of the reviews on the listing, in the order Google shows them and in the words they were written in:

Our stay at Anantara Maia Seychelles Villas was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, every aspect of the experience exceeded our expectations.Ahmed, Google review
Our stay at Anantara Maia was even better than we expected—and we already had very high expectations. The hotel itself is gorgeous. The villas are comfortable, spacious, and everything works perfectly.Pedro, Google review

Getting there

How you arrive.

Mahé is the island the international flights land on, so there is no boat and no second flight in the way. The drive from the terminal is between twenty minutes and an hour depending on the coast. We arrange a private transfer that watches your flight number, which is worth having on the night you arrive and not much worth having after that.

The booking

Where the room is actually sold.

Booking and payment happen on SeyBooking.com, the licensed Seychelles operator, on Anantara Maia Seychelles's own listing there. We are a guide. We take no payment, hold no room and add nothing to the price, and the button on this page opens that listing so you can see the rate for your dates, which is a thing no guide page can honestly print. Most rooms show free cancellation, and the listing says so before you commit.

११Before you book

The six people ask.

Where is Anantara Maia Seychelles?

Anse Louis, on Mahé. Mahé is the island the international flights land on, so there is no boat and no second flight in the way.

How big is it?

30 rooms and 60 beds, per the Seychelles tourism register. The room types and what is free on your dates are on the listing.

How is it rated, and by whom?

4.8 out of 5 on Google, from 359 Google reviews, read on 2 September 2026. That is Google's figure and not ours. We do not run a rating of our own, we do not average anything, and we do not publish a score we could not show you the source of.

How do I book it?

On SeyBooking.com, on Anantara Maia Seychelles's own listing there. The button on this page opens it. We take no payment on this site and there is no form on this page, because the room is not ours to sell.

Can you arrange the rest of the trip around it?

Yes, and that is the part we do run. The car, the airport transfer, the days out and, if that is why you are coming, the wedding. Book the room on the listing, then tell us the dates and we will build the rest around them at no extra cost.

We are vegetarian. Will the kitchen manage?

Probably, if you tell them early. A resort kitchen of this size will normally cook vegetarian without any fuss, and Jain is a longer conversation that needs to happen at the booking rather than at the first dinner. We are not going to claim more than that about a kitchen we have not spoken to. If the requirement is strict, look at the self-catering places on this page, where a kitchen of your own settles it.

Room chosen. Now the week.

Book the room on the listing, then tell us your dates. The car, the transfer and the days out come back in one message, at no extra cost.
