Buisson Guest House
A three-room guesthouse at the quiet end of a lane in La Passe, wrapped in banana and palm trees. Doris and Charles are the reason it holds 4.9.

What Buisson Guest House is.
4.9out of 578 reviews on Googleread 2 September 2026
Buisson is a three-room bed and breakfast at La Passe on La Digue, at the quiet end of a short street near the ferry terminal, and it holds 4.9 from close to eighty guests. Three rooms means one score of four out of five would move the number, which tells you how consistent the eighty have been.
The garden does half the work. The house is wrapped in banana and palm trees, flowers and birdsong, with seating out in the green, and guests describe it opening up like a secret the moment they come through the gate. It is peaceful without being remote, which on a small island is a specific and rare combination.
Doris and Charles, with Susanne, are the other half. Breakfast is a highlight and Doris's homemade jam gets named on its own. They also arrange bicycle hire for guests at about half what it costs elsewhere on the island, a kindness that appears in review after review because it is the kind of thing a big hotel would never think of.
Where it stands.
La Passe is the small, car-free capital of La Digue, a village of bicycles, ox carts and garden guesthouses gathered round the jetty where the ferries from Praslin come in. Bakeries, small markets, cafés and bike-hire stands are all within a short walk. Anse Source d'Argent, with its pink granite boulders, is a flat ride south through the old L'Union Estate, and the wilder beaches of the east are a green pedal over the hill.
What a week here feels like.
Somebody's house, run properly. You will be given advice at breakfast that changes your day. Nothing here is automated and nothing needs to be, because there are three rooms.
Who it suits.
Couples and independent travellers who want the island rather than a resort's version of it. Not the choice if you want room service or a pool. It is the choice if you want to remember the people.
What this means for you.
Three rooms and a bicycle is a very different holiday from a villa with a butler, and for a certain traveller it is the better one. La Digue has no cars, so the whole island moves at the speed of a bicycle and a child can ride to the beach. Book it for two or three nights inside a longer trip rather than for the fortnight, and take the ferry from Praslin, which is about fifteen minutes.
What guests actually wrote.
Two of the reviews on the listing, in the order Google shows them and in the words they were written in:
This guest house was beyond amazing to us and to our needs. The owners we're so friendly and also very helpful with plans to fill up our days on the island. This really felt like a hidden gem, especially when you come in the first time.Marko, Google review
Doris and Charles were the warmest hosts, they really make you feel like home. We had the best breakfast, Doris makes homemade jam that you’ll need to try. The room was super clean and we fell in love with the garden.Gali, Google review

How you arrive.
There is no direct route from Mahé. You cross to Praslin first, by ferry or by air, then take the second ferry from Baie Sainte Anne to La Passe, which takes about fifteen minutes. There are no cars on La Digue, so the last part of the journey is on foot or by bicycle. We can put the whole chain together, including the bags.
Where the room is actually sold.
Booking and payment happen on SeyBooking.com, the licensed Seychelles operator, on Buisson Guest House's own listing there. We are a guide. We take no payment, hold no room and add nothing to the price, and the button on this page opens that listing so you can see the rate for your dates, which is a thing no guide page can honestly print. Most rooms show free cancellation, and the listing says so before you commit.

The six people ask.
Where is Buisson Guest House?
La Passe, on La Digue. There is no direct route from Mahé.
How big is it?
3 rooms and 6 beds, per the Seychelles tourism register. The room types and what is free on your dates are on the listing.
How is it rated, and by whom?
4.9 out of 5 on Google, from 78 Google reviews, read on 2 September 2026. That is Google's figure and not ours. We do not run a rating of our own, we do not average anything, and we do not publish a score we could not show you the source of.
How do I book it?
On SeyBooking.com, on Buisson Guest House's own listing there. The button on this page opens it. We take no payment on this site and there is no form on this page, because the room is not ours to sell.
Can you arrange the rest of the trip around it?
Yes, and that is the part we do run. The car, the airport transfer, the days out and, if that is why you are coming, the wedding. Book the room on the listing, then tell us the dates and we will build the rest around them at no extra cost.
We are vegetarian. Will the kitchen manage?
It is a small house rather than a hotel kitchen, so ask directly when you book. Several of the small properties on this island cook to order for guests who ask in advance. What we will not do is promise you something on their behalf that nobody has told us.
