Hotel L'Archipel
A gentle, family-run hotel above its own beach at Anse Gouvernement, at the quiet end of Côte d'Or. Honeymooners and families both do well here, which is unusual.

What Hotel L'Archipel is.
4.6out of 5451 reviews on Googleread 2 September 2026
L'Archipel is about thirty-two rooms above a quiet beach at Anse Gouvernement, at the eastern end of Côte d'Or on Praslin's north coast. It is family-run and decorated in soft pastels, which gives it a calm, understated character quite unlike the resorts along the rest of the bay.
It holds 4.6 from more than four hundred reviews. The rooms are spacious and spotless and many have a wide view over the bay. There is a saltwater pool kept without heavy chlorine, and direct access to the beach below.
The reviews are about the team. Guests describe a local staff who listen and then quietly arrange the thing, a candlelit dinner for a honeymoon among the examples given. It is the attention rather than the facilities that fills the page.
Where it stands.
Anse Gouvernement is at the eastern end of Côte d'Or, Praslin's main resort beach, a long sheltered bay of pale sand with calm shallow water. The Côte d'Or strip with its shops, dive centres and restaurants is a short walk or drive, and most of the island's boat trips leave from the bay. Anse Lazio is a short drive north and the Vallée de Mai is inland.
What a week here feels like.
Gentle. That is the word the reviews keep reaching for and it is the right one. A small hotel that is beautifully kept, on a quiet end of a busy beach, where the pace is set by the staff rather than by a programme.
Who it suits.
Honeymooners and couples, and families who want somewhere small and calm rather than a resort with a schedule. Very few hotels serve both well, and this one does.
What this means for you.
A good choice for a honeymoon that does not want the scale or the price of a villa resort. The quiet end of Côte d'Or gives you the beach and the boat trips without the strip outside your door. Thirty-two rooms also means the staff know who you are by the second morning, which for a first trip to an unfamiliar country counts for a lot.
What guests actually wrote.
Two of the reviews on the listing, in the order Google shows them and in the words they were written in:
I've been travelling all over this island and I find this hotel to be the most gentle and soft. The colours are pastel, light blue, green, white, brown and pink.Natalia, Google review
Christina Pertaub, the F&B Manager at L’Archipel Hotel, is absolutely outstanding. She hosted the 31st December end-of-year celebration that I attended with my dad, and the experience was truly unforgettable.Aurélie, Google review

How you arrive.
Praslin is reached from Mahé either by the fast ferry, about an hour from Victoria into Baie Sainte Anne, or by a fifteen-minute flight to the island's airstrip. The ferry is cheaper and shows you the sea. The flight is quicker and carries fifteen kilos a person, which is the figure that usually decides it for a family. We can arrange the transfer at both ends so the chain is not yours to assemble.
Where the room is actually sold.
Booking and payment happen on SeyBooking.com, the licensed Seychelles operator, on Hotel L'Archipel's own listing there. We are a guide. We take no payment, hold no room and add nothing to the price, and the button on this page opens that listing so you can see the rate for your dates, which is a thing no guide page can honestly print. Most rooms show free cancellation, and the listing says so before you commit.

The six people ask.
Where is Hotel L'Archipel?
Anse Gouvernment, on Praslin. Praslin is reached from Mahé either by the fast ferry, about an hour from Victoria into Baie Sainte Anne, or by a fifteen-minute flight to the island's airstrip.
How big is it?
32 rooms and 64 beds, per the Seychelles tourism register. The room types and what is free on your dates are on the listing.
How is it rated, and by whom?
4.6 out of 5 on Google, from 451 Google reviews, read on 2 September 2026. That is Google's figure and not ours. We do not run a rating of our own, we do not average anything, and we do not publish a score we could not show you the source of.
How do I book it?
On SeyBooking.com, on Hotel L'Archipel's own listing there. The button on this page opens it. We take no payment on this site and there is no form on this page, because the room is not ours to sell.
Can you arrange the rest of the trip around it?
Yes, and that is the part we do run. The car, the airport transfer, the days out and, if that is why you are coming, the wedding. Book the room on the listing, then tell us the dates and we will build the rest around them at no extra cost.
We are vegetarian. Will the kitchen manage?
Probably, if you tell them early. A resort kitchen of this size will normally cook vegetarian without any fuss, and Jain is a longer conversation that needs to happen at the booking rather than at the first dinner. We are not going to claim more than that about a kitchen we have not spoken to. If the requirement is strict, look at the self-catering places on this page, where a kitchen of your own settles it.
If Hotel L'Archipel is full.
